Lite Pancake Breakfast

I know I'm a terrible blogger as of late, I apologize. I have not heard much chatter about the annual Lite Pancake Breakfast and I really enjoy this event, so wanted to make sure it's on the radar!

It's a come and go sort of event, this year’s Wild Blueberry Pancake Breakfast will be held Friday November 27, 2015 from 7-10 am at the Indian and Metis Friendship Centre. Funds raised will benefit LITE’s Alternative Christmas Hamper Campaign. Buy cheaper advance tickets today for your group!

A little about what it supports, from their pancake breakfast specific webpage:

A Better Hamper

Every year thousands of Winnipeggers give generously to Christmas Hamper programs dedicated to providing a wonderful Holiday experience to those in need. This generosity is appreciated, but is also necessary to make sure that no one goes hungry during the rest of the year.
LITE’s Alternative Christmas Hamper program does just this. LITE uses your generous donations to purchase goods in a way that stimulates the inner-city economy providing jobs and security within this fragile neighbourhood. Jobs mean confidence, and a steady pay check: things that most people may take for granted, but that mean a lot to people who have gone without both. The reality is that the inner-city is full of intelligent, hardworking, dedicated people who want to work but can’t. They may be single mothers, new Canadians, people struggling to overcome homelessness or substance abuse, or simply lacking the skills needed to find jobs.

One of the things that I really really appreciate about this event is that they use all compostable plates/cups/utensils, such a great example for the city!

See you there!

  1. Thumps up for the cause to the organisation! They are really doing a great job for the poor and underprivliged. It is a time when everyone deserves to have good food.
